Terms & Conditions for prize draw

Promoter:    Matthew John Lant, PhD student Lancaster University, m.lant@lancaster.ac.uk 

Eligibility: 

  1. By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions

  2.  This prize draw is free to enter and will not impact your relationship with your University in any way.

  3. A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted.

  4. Choosing to opt out of this prize draw will not impact your participation in the research process.

  5. The free prize draw is open to any prospective and interested research participants. 

Entry:

  1. To enter please complete and return via email an expression of interest form, available on the dedicated research webpage. Please remember to tick ‘Yes’ to both consent to entry and data storage to be eligible for entry into the prize draw. 

  2. The date for the prize draw will be June 1st, 2022 and the winner will be notified within 30 days of the draw by telephone and / or email.

  3. Selection of the winner will be determined by the online random name selector https://www.randomlists.com/name- picker. Where participants first names are the same, use of surname initial will be used to differentiate the participants. 

The Prize:

  1. The prize for the winner is a £100 online Amazon gift card voucher.

  2. Confirmation that a winner has been selected (using no personal details)  will be advertised on the dedicated research webpage, after the winner has been informed and confirmation of receipt of their voucher received. 

Data:

  1. Consent to personal data storage on the researchers secure Lancaster University OneDrive account will be recorded via the expression of interest form, consent form and debrief forms. 

  2. No personal data including ‘name’ will be used to advertise the winner. The research webpage will be updated stating a winner has been chosen. This will occur after the winner has been informed and receipt of their prize acknowledged.

  3. All personal data will be securely stored on the researcher’s password protected computer on their secure Lancaster University OneDrive account. 

  4. All personal data will be deleted within 30 days of the draw on June 1st 2022. 

  5. All personal data will be managed in line with GDPR regulations. 

  6. The prize draw and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
